Asus X205TA hardware support in Ubuntu

So I wonder after all this time if the only remaining issue with Ubuntu on this computer is the headphones insertion/removal detection?

I can totally live with that, but the perfectionist in me wants to know if that's something we really can't fix...

hey guys i need help asap i recently installed lubuntu on x205ta but ik the some of the drivers wont work on this machine and am finding on it online
some of the drivers that are not working are the speakers headphones and bluetooth but idk how to install them
can you help me to install the drivers?

I collected information from this forum and other sources, you can fix bluetooth with the instructions here and fix (albeit just partially) the issue with headphones with the instructions here.

Hey guys.... I just stumbled on to this rag. I just got a Asus X205T and would love to install Ubuntu.... other than the first page, where is a good spot to start reading this post with the latest progress to install Ubuntu and get the Wifi working. I am trying to use it to install a wireguard server. Thanx.

Installed Ubuntu 20.04.6 on my Asus X205T after reading most of this post. To summarize:


1. Use Rufus 4.4 to write the ISO to USB flash drive.
Partition Scheme GPT
Target System UEFI (non CSM)
File System FAT32
Cluster size 8192
2. Replace the contents of the Ubuntu installer /efi/boot directory with
bootia32.efi (google it and download)
3. Plug in the USB drive to laptop and bootup
4. Continually press F2 until the Bios is accessed
5. Move the cursor to "Save and Exit"
6. Move cursor to "Boot Override" and select "UEFI: UFD USB Flash Drive 1100" and hit enter
7. Select Install Ubuntu and proceed as usual

No install issues and the Wifi worked after the install. Sound didn't work out of the box.
I am going to install Wireguard server so I don't need sound to work.
