Also many movies are made using Linux. Another notable one was Startrek Nemesis where Linus in fact attended the movies premier.

Ladies and gents, the majority, if not all major blockbuster rendering is done using linux APPLIANCES. Why ? because if all i want to do is render terabytes of data it makes sense to add the minimal userland and rendering specific tools above the linux kernel and dedicate all my serverfarms power to the one task i need. No need for an entire OS. This is not some design win for desktop linux, it's just sound technical business.

Server linux rendered the movie. Desktop linux can't play the game. I do not feel warm inside.

Define trivial? Most the interviews I have seen on TV about running linux was that it ran better then the windows counterparts (lag wise), just most GNU/Linux software is custom written where as the windows stuff can be purchased. At least thats what I seen on the those tech TV channels when there is nothing else to watch on tv..
