The instructions might not mention that you need to add the line
ndiswrapper
to the /etc/modules file. Also be sure to restart after applying the ndiswrapper solution.
Not sure if the ndiswrapper solution will work for 64bit, I'm running 32bit, but it's worth a try as it works flawlessly on 32bit.
